THE KAUNERGRAT NATURAL PARK
A SIGHT WORTHY OF PRESERVATION.
Nothing compares with the power of unspoiled nature. With the pure beauty and the sheer tangible peace of the Kaunergrat nature park. Everything is so quiet yet at the same time so lively. Everything lives, blossoms or is at rest in its winter sleep.
This unforgettable refuge extends from the Pitztal across the Kaunertal and parts of the Inn valley and is a treasure which is revealed in all its uniqueness during the guided nature watch using Swarovski binoculars or on a guided walk through the park. Covering almost 59,000 hectares, this park contains all the different peaks of the Alps from the Innauen at 750 m to the commanding Wildspitze at over 3,700 m. The nature park building accommodates the interesting exhibition ‘3,000 m vertical’ and a panoramic restaurant, bringing an enjoyable end to your day in the Kaunergrat nature park and an opportunity to explore the beauty of the region interactively.
A NATURE PARK THAT INSPIRES.
1,100 species of butterfly, 1,200 ibex, 6 themed routes, more than 120 events each year, 47 Alps and 84 peaks over 3,000 metres are just some of the impressive facts & figures in relation to the Kaunergrat nature park.
Here – just a few minutes’ drive from our 4-star hotel in the Kaunertal – you will find chamois and mouflon sheep, red deer and doe, marmots, squirrels, thousands of grasshoppers, forest bees and true kings of the skies such as golden eagles and bearded vultures. Equipped with Swarovski binoculars you can wander through the animals’ home observing their life in the wild. Follow the different themed paths and educational trails, all of which can be discovered in around 1.5 hours with the whole family. The Kaunergrat nature reserve offers active enjoyment during your summer holiday in the Kaunertal, as well as during your winter holiday: cross country ski trails snake through the park and snow show hikers follow in the proverbial tracks of deer and hares.
